ORDINANCE NO. 126. <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF <br />i NEWPORT BEACH LEVYING A, <br />TAX UPON ALL THE TAXABLE <br />PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF <br />NEWPORT BEACH, WHICH IS <br />TAXABLE THEREIN FOR MU -, <br />NICIPAL PURPOSES, FOR THE <br />FISCAL YEAR OF 1916-17 - <br />The Board of Trustees of the City <br />of Newport Beach do ordain as fol- <br />lows: <br />Section 1. A property tax is hereby <br />levied upon all of the taxable prop- <br />erty in the City of Newport Beach,' <br />which is taxable therein for municipal <br />purposes; said tax Is levied for the <br />purpose of raising $21,827.59 to carry <br />on the various departments of the <br />City of Newport Beach for the fiscal <br />year of 1916 -17. The total number of <br />cents levied upon each one hundred <br />dollars of assessed value of the as- <br />sessable property in the City of New- <br />port Beach is hereby fixed at 100 <br />cents, divided and designated for each <br />fund as follows: <br />For the salary fund, 30 cents. <br />For the street fund, 40 cents. <br />For the current expense fund, 30, <br />cents. <br />In addition to all other taxes here- <br />in levied for municipal purposes, <br />there is further levied on each one <br />hundred dollars of assessed value of <br />the assessable property In the City of <br />Newport Beach, the sum of 30 cents <br />for the purpose of raising $6,310.00, a <br />sum sufficient to pay the annual in- <br />terest and such part of the principal <br />� of the outstanding and unpaid mu- <br />nicipal bonds of the City of Newport <br />Beach as shall become due before the <br />time for fixing the next general tax <br />levy. <br />Section 2. This Ordinance shall be <br />'signed by the President of the Board <br />of Trustees of the City of Newport l <br />.Beach and attested by the Clerk <br />thereof, and shall be printed and pub- <br />lished once in the "Newport News," <br />a newspaper, printed, published and <br />circulated in the City of Newport <br />Beach, and thereupon it shall take <br />.effect and be in force. <br />The above and foregoing Ordinance, <br />No. 126 was passed at a regular meet -I <br />Ing of the Board of Trustees of the <br />City of Newport Beach held on the <br />4th day of September, 1916, by the' <br />following vote, and on said day was <br />,signed and approved by the President) <br />'of the Board of Trustees: 1 <br />Ayes— Trustees S.
