"A Resolu ,tion of the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach declaring their' lintention to vacate, close -up and labandon for public street purposes) 'certain portions of Coast Boulevard) I within the said City'. and WHEREAS. the Street Superinten- 1 dent of the City of Newport Beach after the passage of said Resolution caused to be conspicuously posted along the line of said contemplated .improvement at not more than three hundred feet in distance apart upon said street, and not less than three in a1L.n,pon said street, notices of the p'6dgage o€lsaid resolution. said no- tice being headed. "Notice of Public 'Work." in letters not less than one inch in length and stating the fact !of the passage of said Resolution. I I its date and briefly the work of im- f prpVemeht proposed. being that of ,vacating the above named street as 'hereniafter described. and the said jnotice herein mentioned referred to said resolution for further particu- lars: said Street Superintendent hav- ing also caused a notice similar to that hereinbefore referred to to be pub - Ilished by four successive insertions Ilin the Newport News. a weekly news - paper printed. published and circu- lated in said City of Newport Beach I (there being no daily newspaper so ,printed, published and circulated in ;said City) and more than ten days Safter the expiration of the time of !publication of said notice having jeiapsed and no objections to the said j improvement having been delivered to. 1the City Clerk of the City of Newport Beach, and the said Board of Trustees having acquired jurisdiction to order the vacation of said street as here. lnafter described. (g) Beginning at the intersection of the northeasterly prolongation of the southeasterly line of 24th Street and a line 40 feet northeasterly of and parallel with the southwesterly line of that part of Coast Boulevard lying southeasterly of 24th Street- thence southeasterly along a line which line is 40 feet northeasterly of and parallel with the southwester- ly line of that part of Coast Boule- vard lying immediately southeaster- ly of 24th Street to its intersection with the westerly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's right -of. way: thence northwesterly along the westerly line of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company's right -of -way to its intersection with the northeaster- ly prolongation of the southeasterly line of 24th Street: thence southwes terly along the northeasterly prolon- gation of the southeasterly line of ' 24th Street to the place of beginning. t SECTION 2 That the public work herein pro- vided for is the closing up of the street herein described in Section 1, and it appearing to the Board of Trustees that there are no costs. dam- ages or expense occasioned by or arising out of said work. and that no assessment is necessary to pay the costs. daunlages or expenses of said work, and that therefore no commissioners shall be appointed to assess benefits and damages. SECTION 3. The City Clork shall certify to the passage of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published by one insertion in the Newport News. a weekly newspaper printed, publish- ed and circulated in said City and which is hereby designated for that purpose.
