OF NEWPORT BEACH PROVID- ING FOR THE APPOINTHENT �1 OF A BUILDING INSPECTOR AND ASSISTANT BVILDLNGI INSPECTORS, AND PRIYIDINGj RULES AND REGULATIONSi GOVERNING THE ERECTION OF BUILDINGS IN THE CITY' 7 OF NEWPORT BEACH, AND PROYIDL \G A PENALTY FOR ALL YIOLATIOYS THEREOF. The City Council of the City of Newport Beach do ordain as fol- lows: That Ordinance No. 182 of the City of Newport Beach is hereby amended in the following Pardee - lars: That Section 7 of Ordinance No. 182 of tho City of Newport Beach heretofore adopted. is hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 7. FEES. The fees to he paid the building inspector for the issuance of any permit hereof shall be as follows: Cost of Building Amount fee or work to be paid $ 25 to $ 75 ----- _................... - ..... $1,00 76 to 200 " 1.50 201 to 500 1.75 Solto 600 ..._ ............... _. ... .... .. 2.00 601 to 700 ............... ..._ ..... _...... 2.25 701 to 800 ... ..... ............ ..__._.. 2.50 801 1-1 900 _ ..................... ......... 2.75 901 to 1000 ............. .: ........ ........ 3.00 For each additional $100.00 or frac- tion thereof of the cost, or value, of the building or work, over and above $1000.00 and not exceeding $2000.00, 20 cents; for each addi- tional $100.00 or fraction thereof of the cost,:pr value, of the building or work, over and above $2000.00 and not exceeding $3000.00. 10 cents; for each additional $100.00 or fraction Ciereof of the cost or value, of the building or work, over and above $3000.00 and not exceeding $10,000.00, 20 cents; for each additional $100.00 or fracticgi thereof of the cost, or value, of the building or work, over and above $10.000.00 and not exceeding $20,- 1 000.00, 15 cents: for each additional ,$100.00 or fraction thereof of the cost, or value, of the building or work, over and above $20,000.00 and not exceeding $50,000.00, 10 scents; and add thereto 5 cents for each additioonal $100.00 or fraction thereof of such cost or value of the building or work above $50: I 000.00. An additional permit must be ob- tained, in the same manner as the original ,permit, if changes and de- viations are made from the original plans, specifications and applica- tions filed with and approved by the Building Inspector, in case such changes or deviations affect the structural features or stability . of the building or work covered' by the original permit issued. The Building Inspector, however, may authorize and Permit minor chang- es and deviations from the orig- inal plans, specifications and ap- plication under which ,permit was issued, without requiring an addi- tional permit, provided all such changes or deviations conform to the provisions of this ordinance. In the case of the moving of a building, the fee for such permit Shall he based on the total cost of the work proposed to be done ex- elusive of the cost of the actual moving while,on a public street, public alley or other public place. The 'aforesaid fees do not include nor Permit any other work for which Permit or fees is required by any other ordinance, law, ruling or regulation of any other department of said City. That all the fees above ,Provided shall be paid to the Building In- spector and the Building Inspector shall retain in any fiscal Year the sum of $1800.00 as and for his sal- ary, and all amounts In excess of $1800.00 shall be paid over by the. Building Inspector into the general, fund of said City. That all ordinances Or parts of ordinances in conflict with this or- dinance are hereby repealed. The above and foregoing Ordin- ance shall be printed and published once in Newport News, a newspaper of general circulation, Printed, pub- lished and circulated in'the City of Newport Beach, and shall take ef- fect and be in force thirty (30) days after its passage.
