ORDINANCE NO. 406
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY-
OF NEWPORT BEACH
AMENDING SECTION 1 OF
ORDINANCE NO. 374 OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH.
. The City of Newport Beach, by
and through its City Council, do
ordain as follows, to -wit:
SECTION 1. Section 1, of Or-
dinance No. 374 of the City of
Newport Beach, is hereby amend-
ed to read as follows, to -wit:
(b) All that portion of said
Balboa Island, described as
commencing a t t h e point
where the center line of Pearl
Avenue produced southerly
intersects the line of ordinary
low tide of the Pacific Ocean
in Newport Bay; thence
northerly along said produced
center line and the center line
of Pearl Avenue to the point
where the same is intersected
by the center line of an alley
extending easterly and west-
erly along, adjoining and par-
allel with the northerly line
of Lots 1 to 6 inclusive, of
Block 7, Section 1' of Balboa
Island, as per map of a re-
subdivision thereof recorded
in Bbbk'6, page 30 of Mis-
cellaneous Maps, records of
Orange County, California;
thence easterly along the cen-
ter line of said alley to the
point where it unites with the
center line of an alley extend-
ing northerly through said
Block 7; thence northerly
along the center line of said
alley to the southerly line of
Park Avenue; thence norther-
ly across Park Avenue and
lilting the center line of an
alley extending northerly
through Block 8 of said Sec-
tion 1 to the point where the
center line of said alley is in-
tersected by the northerly line
of Lot 22, said Block 8 pro-
duced westerly; thence south-
easterly and along the north-
erly line of said Lot 22 and
across Agate Avenue and
along the northerly line of
Lot 26, Block 10, of said Sec-
tion 1 and the northerly line
of Lot 26 produced easterly
to its intersection with the
center line of an alley extend-
ing southerly through said
Block 10; thence southerly
along the center line of said
alley to the northerly line of
Park Avenue; thence across
Park Avenue and along the
center line of the alley ex-
tending southerly through
Block 9, said Section 1, to the
point where it intersects the
center line of the alley ex-
tending easterly and westerly
along, adjoining, and parallel
with the northerly line of Lots
1 to 6 inclusive, said Block 9
of Section 1; thence easterly
along the center line of said
alley to the point where it is
intersected by the center line
of Opal Avenue; thence
southerly along the center
line of Opal Av nue and the
center line thereof produced
southerly to the point where
it intersects the line of ordin-
ary low tide in Newport Bay;
thence northwesterly along
and pursuing the line of or-
dinary low tide in Newport
Bay to the point of beginning.
Also beginning at the point
where the center line of Bal-
boa. Avenue, formerly known
as Central Avenue, is inter-
sected by the Northerly pro-
longation of the center line
of the alley, extending North-
erly and Southerly through
Block 12 section 4, Balboa
Island, as shown on a map
recorded in Book 7, page 37,
of Miscellaneous Maps, Rec-
ords of Orange County, Cali-
fornia; thence Easterly along
the said center line of Balboa
Avenue to the point of inter-
section with the Northerly
prolongation of the center line
of the alley extending North-
erly and Southerly through
Block 11, of said Section 4;
thence Southerly along the
last mentioned Northerly pro-
longation and the center line
of the last mentioned alley
and the Southerly prolonga-
tion'of the said center line to
an intersection with the East-
erly prolongation of t h e
southerly line of lot 18, Block
2 of said Section 4; thence
Westerly along the last men-
tioned Easterly prolongation
and along the Southerly line
of said Lot 18, and the West-
erly prolongation t: ereof, and
the Southerly line of Lot 15 of
Block 1 of said section 4, and
the Westerly prolongation
thereof, to an intersection
with the center line of the
alley extending Northerly and
Southerly through said Block
1; thence Northerly along the
center line of the last men-
tioned alley and the Northerly
prolongation thereof, and the
center line of the said alley
in Block 12 of said Section 4,
and the Northerly prolonga-
tion thereof, to the point of
beginning.
Also that portion of the
City of Newport Beach des-
cribed as follows: Commenc-
ing at the point where the
center line of Balboa Avenue,
formerly known as Central
Avenue is intersected by the
produced center line of the
alley extending northerly and
southerly through Block 14,
Section 4, Balboa Island, as
per map thereof recorded In
Pook 7, page 37 of Miscell-
aneous Maps, Records of Or-
ange County, California;
thence westerly along said
center line of Balboa Avenue.

tion with the center line of
the alley extending easterly

Block 13; thence easterly
along the said center line of
the last mentioned alley, to
an intersection with the
southerly prolongation of the
westerly line of Lot 21 of
said Block 13; thence north-
erly along the southerly pro-
longation of and the said
westerly line of Lot 21 to the
northwest corner of said Lot
21; thence easterly in a direct
line to the northeasterly cor-
ner of Lot 16 of said Block
14 of Section 4, Balboa Isl-
and; thence southerly along
the easterly line and the
southerly prolongation of the
easterly line of said Lot 16,
to an intersection with the
center line of the alley ex-
tending easterly and westerly
through said Block 14; thence
easterly along the said cen-
ter line of the last mentioned
alley to an intersection with
the center line of the alley
extending northerly and
southerly through said Block
14; thence southerly along the
said center line of the last
mentioned alley to the point
of beginning, shall constitute
and is hereby created and de-
clared to be Distric, No. 2.
SECTION 2. This ordinance
shall be published once in NEW
PORT NEWS, a newspaper of
general circulation, printed, pub-
lished and circulated in the City
of Newport Beach, and shall take
effect and be in force thirty days
after its passage.
I hereby certify that the fore-
going Ordinance No. 406 was duly
introduced before the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach at
a regular meeting thereof held on
the 17th day of October, 1932, and
passed at a regular meeting of
said City Council held on the 12th
day of December, 1932, by the fol-
lowing vote, to -wit:
AYES, Councilmen: Gordon,
Claire, Ellsworth, Garfield, Hil-
mer.
NOES, Councilmen: None.
ABSENT, Councilmen: None.

The above and foregoing Ordin-
ance No. 406 having been duly
passed by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach this 12th
day of December, 1932, is hereby
