The City of Newport Beach, by
and through its City Council, does
•
ordain as follows:
Section t. ..Section 16 of Ordi-
nance No. 428 of the City of New -
port Beach is hereby amended to
read as follows:
"The City Council shall, on the
first Monday of September of each
year, fix the levy or rate percent
of taxes levied for all municipal
purposes for th::: fiscal year, de-
signating the mummer of cents on
each one hundred dollars of pro-
perty assessable for city taxation
purposes, for each of the various
municippal funds, not to exceed in
the aggregate the limits fixed by
law.,,
Section 2. -There is hereby add-
ed to Ordinance No. 428 of the
City of Newport Beach, a new
section to be known as Section
28 %, which shall read as follows:
"28 %. The City Council of
•
the City of Newport Beach
may, in its discretion order
the City Tax Collector, by a
majority vote, to publish the
delinquent tax list mentioned
in paragraph 28 hereof, or
may order the publication of
any part or portion thereof,
in a newspaper of the City of
Newport Beach, doing City
advertising. The delinquent
tax list so published shall be
prepared within the tare and
in the manner provided for by
•
Section 28 hereof, and shall
be published for the period of
time directed by the City
Council."
Section 3. This ordinance sha!]
be printed and published once in
Newport News, a newspaper
printed, published and circulated
in the City of Newport Beach, and
shall take effect and be in force
thirty (30) days after its pass-
age.
The above and foregoing Or-
dinance was introduced at an ad-
journed regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of New-
port Beach held on the 22nd day
of April, 1937, and was finally
passed and adopted on the 3rd.
day of May, 1937, by said City
Council at a regular meeting
thereof, by the following vote, to-
wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Gordon,
Claire, Whitson, Williamson.
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: Gar-
field.
The above and foregoing Ordi-
nance is signed and approved by
me this 3rd day of May, 1937.
