HomeMy WebLinkAbout484 - Building Regulations• • • ORDINANCE NO. 484 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING SECTION 4 OF ORDINANCE NO. 302 OF SAID CITY. The City of Newport Beach, by and through its City Council, does ordain as follows: Section 1. Section 4 of Ordinance No. 302 of the City of Newport Beach is hereby amended to read as follows, to -wit: "Section 4. At the time of taking out a building permit by any per- son for the erection of any build- ing in the City of Newport Beach if the said building when erected shall be located within 200 feet of a main sewer line, an applica- tion to have said building connect- ed with the public sewer shall be filed with the Superintendent of the water system of the City of Newport Beach, and no building permit under such conditions shall be issued until said application is signed and filed. The application shall set forth the name of the applicant and'a, description of the property upon which the sewer connection is to be made, and the approximate dis- tance of the building when erected from the nearest point on a main :ewer line of the public sewer. The applicant shell also deposit the sum of $5.00 for making the connection and inspecting the same when made, together with an addi- tional $1.00 for each foot of sewer pipe to be laid from the main line to a point on the property to be connected, the point to be desig -'' nated by the owner, provided, however, that the minimum fee for making any connection shell be $15.00, except that where connec- tions have been installed to the property line, the minimum fee for making and inspecting such con- nections shall be $5.00. No building hereafter erected in the City of Newport Beach shall be occupied for any purpose until the same is connected with the public sewer, if such building is within 200 feet of a main sewer pipeline, and all fees and costs for making said connection have been paid. All connections to the public sewer shall be made by the super- intendent of the water system, or by some person especially author- ized by him to do so. Section 2. The above and fore- going ordinance No. 484 shall be published once in NEWPORT BALBOA NEWS - TIDIES, a news- paper of general circulation'print- ed, published and circulated in the City of Newport'Beach, and shall take effect and be in force thirty days after its first publication. I hereby certify that the fore- going ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the let day of May, .1939, and was finally passed and ,adopted on the 5th day of June, 1939, by the: City -Council at a regular meeting thereof, by the following roll call vote, to -wit: AYES, Councilmen: Gordon, Claire, Whitson, Brown, William- son.
