HomeMy WebLinkAbout510 - Imprisonmentn U 4 • • 11 • • ORDINANCE NO. 610 The City of Newport Beach, by and through its City Council, does ordain as follows, to -wit: SECTION 1. Every prisoner charged with or convicted of a misdemeanor, who is confined in the City Sail of the City of New- port Beach, or who is engaged on any city work or project, or who is in the lawful custody of any officer of the City of Newport Beach, who ,escapes or attempts to escape from said jail, or from the custody of such officer in charge of him, while engaged on, or going to or returning from such city work, or from the custody of any such officer in whose lawful cus- tody he is, is guilty of a misde- meanor and is punishable by im- prisonment in the City Sail of the City of Newport Beach, not ex- ceeding three (3) months, or by a fine not exceeding $300.00, or by both such fine and imprison- ment. SECTION 2. The above and fore- going ordinance shall be published once in the NEWPORT - BALBOA PRESS, a newspaper of general circulation panted, published and circulated in the City of Newport Beach, and shall take effect and be in force thirty days after its passage. I hereby certify that the above and foregoing ordinance was in- troduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, held on the 6th day of April, 1942, and was finally passed and adopted on the 21st day of April, 1942, by said City Council, at an adjourned regular meeting thereof, by the following vote, to -wit: AYES, COUNCILMEN: Claire, Allen, Brown, Reed, Gordon. NOES, COUNCILMEN: None. ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: None ATTEST: FRANK L. RINEHART, City Clerk. The above and foregoing ordi- nance is signed and approved by me this 21st day of April, 1942. IRVIN GEO.
