ORDINANCE NO. 638
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
SECTION 6216, 6231 (a),
6237, 6242, 6258, and 6266 AND
ADDING SECTION 62I6 (a)
TO THE MUNICIPAL CODE
OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH PROVIDING FOR
THE LICENSE FEES OF CER-
TAIN BUSINESSES AND OC-
CUPATIONS
The City Council of the City of
Newport Beach does ordain as fol-
lows:
SECTION 1: S e c t i o n s 6216,
6231(a),.6237, 6242, 6258 and 6266
Of the Municipal Code of the City'
of Newport Beach are hereby
amended to read as follows:
"Section 6216. Bread Wagon or
each other vehicle from which
bread and other bakery products)
is sold at retail, whether bread or
other bakery products be baked
in the City or not, — $100.00 -a.
Section 6231(a). Market —�
$25.00 -a.
Section 6237. Ice Cream, Whole -
sale., managing or, carrying on the
business of selling or distributing
— $25.00 -a.
Section 6242. Milk Wagon, or
vehicle, each subject to a permit
— $25.00 -a.
Section 6258. Sharpening Tools,
operating of motor or other veh-
icle for the purpose of sharpening,
or grinding knives, axes, scissors
or other 'cutlery, for each such
vehicle — $25;00 -a.
Section'6266. Wheel Tax. Every
person, firm or corporation con-
ducting, managing or carrying on
the business of running, driving
br'aperating any automobile, auto.
mobile truck. automobile tank
wagon or any other motor vehicle
used for the transportation of
baggage, height, household goods,
merchandise, lumber, brick, ce-
ment, oil, rock or gravel. For each
vehicle, except where the rate of
such license is fixed at a higher
rate by any provision of this
Chapter — $15.00 -a.
SECTION 2: There is hereby
added to the Municipal Code of the
City of Newport Beach, Section
6216 (a), to read as follows:
"Delivering any food or drink
for human consumption to retail
outlets — $25.00 -a.
SECTION 3: This ordinance
shall be published at least once
in the Newport - Balboa Press, a
newspaper of general circulation,
Printed and published in the City
of Newport Beach and shall take
effect 30 days after its final pas-
sage.
The foregoing ordinance was in-
troduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of
N 'wport Beach, held on the 14th
da of May, 1951, and was final-
ly passed and adopted on the 28th
day of May, 1951, by the follow-
ing vote, to -wit:
Ayes, Councilmen Finch,
Ramsey, Greeley, Blue,
Isbell
Noes, Councilmen, None
Absent, Councilmen, None
