My Commission Expires ............................. _......._...November...16 - - --_ 19 ------ 55----- Ordinance No. 714 1 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AP- PROVING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH OF CERTAIN INHAB- ITED TERRITORY DESIG- NATED AS " STRICKER AN- NEXATION" WHICH IS CON- TIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, UPON THE TERMS CONTAINED IN THE QUESTION SUBMITTED AT A SPECIAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID TERRITORY ON THE 24th DAY OF FEB- RUARY, 1954. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the Legis- lature of the State of California, known as the "Annexation Act of 1913;' and pursuant to Resolutiei No. 4194 adopted by the :•;:y Council of the City of — Beach on the 11th day of January 1954, a special election was on the 24th day of February, IASa.: in that certain inhabited -zao:y contiguous to the City of Newport i Beach designated as "Stricker Annexation" and which is herein- I after more particularly described; and , WHEREAS, at said special elec- tion the following question was submitted to the qualified electors residing in said territory: - SHALL STRICKER ANNEXA- MON BE ANNEXED TO, IN- JORPORATF.D IN AND MADE A I PART OF THE CITY OF NEW- j PORT BEACH AND THE PR^- PERTY IN SUCH TERRITORYI BE, AFER SUCH ANNEXATION SUBJECT TO T A X A T 10 EQUALLY WITH THE PROPER rY WITHIN THE CITY yr NEWPORT BEACH, TO PA:i rHE ENTIRE BONDED MI DEBTEDNESS OF THE Ori Y JF NEWPORT BEACH CUT STANDING OR AUTHORIZEDI AT THE DATE OF THE FILING' OF THE PETITION FOR AN- NEXATION FOR THE ACQUI- SITION, CONSTRUCTION OR COMPLETION OF MUNICIPAL [MPROVEMENTS? AND, WHEREAS, it appears From the canvass of the returns of the votes cast at said special election that a majority of all votes cast in said territory on the question of said annexation to the City of Newport Beach upon the terms contained in the question - Favor annexation; and WHEREAS, it appears that said special election and all pro- ceedings relating thereto have been conducted strictly in accord- ance with law; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. That the annexa- tion of th4,t certain inhabited ter- ritory contiguous to the City of Newport Beach designated as "Stricker Annexation" be and the same hereby is approved upon the terms contained in the aforesaid question which was submitted at the special election held on the 24th day of February, 1954.
