ORDINANCE NO. 816
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AMEND.
ING SECTION 10157 OF CHAP-
TER 1 OF ARTICLE X OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE, BY ADDING
SUB - SECTIONS H AND I, PRO-
VIDING FOR TWO ADDITIONAL
PROTECTED SWIMMING
AREAS.
The City Council of the City
of Newport Beach does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1: That Section 10157
of Chapter 1 of Article X of the
Municipal Code, be and the same
is hereby amended, by adding
the following sub - sections to
read as follows:
"H. Swimming Area No. 8.
Beginning at the point of in.
tersection of the northeasterly
prolongation of the northwest-
erly line of Lot 17, Block 218,
as shown upon a map of Sec -
"B" Newport Beach, recorded
in Miscellaneous Maps, Book
4, Page 27, Records of Orange
County, California and the U.S.
Pierhead line; thence south-
easterly along said U.S. Pier -
head line to an intersection
with the northeasterly pro-
longation of the northwesterly
line of 17th Street as shown
upon a map of said Section
"B "; thence southwesterly
along said northeasterly pro-
longation of 17th Street to an
intersection with a line lying
parallel to and distant 310
feet from and northeasterly
of the northerly line of Balboa
Boulevard; thence northwest-
erly along said parallel line to
an intersection with the afore-
said northeasterly prolonga-
tion of the northwesterly line
of said Lot 17, Block 218;
thence northeasterly along
said northeasterly prolonga-
tion of the northwesterly line
of Lot 17 to the point of begin-
ning.
"I. Swimming Area No. 9.
Beginning at the point of in-
tersection of the southeasterly
line of Goldenrod Avenue as
shown upon a map of Corona
del Mar, recorded in Miscel.
laneous Maps, Book 3, Pages
41 and 42, Records of Orange
County, California and the
mean high tide line of the
Pacific Ocean; thence easterly
and southerly along said high
tide line to an intersection
with the southwesterly line of
Shore Avenue as shown upon
said Map of Corona del Mar;
thence northwesterly a l o n g
said southwesterly line of
Shore Avenue to an intersec-
tion with the southwesterly
prolongation of the northwest-
erly line of Goldenrod Avenue
as shown upon said map of
Corona del Mar; thence north-
easterly along said southwest-
erly prolongation and along
the northeasterly line of said
Goldenrod Avenue to an inter-
section with the high tide line
of the Pacific Ocean; thence
easterly along said high tide
line to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2: This ordinance
shall be published at least once
in the Newport Harbor Ensign, a
newspaper of general circulation,
printed and published and circu-
lated in the City of Newport
Beach and the same shall be in
full force and effect 30 days after
this passage.
The above and foregoing ordi.
nance was introduced at a regu-
lar meeting of the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach
held on the 12th day of March,
1957 and was finally passed and
adopted on the 25th day of
March, 1957, by the following
vote, to wit:

Higbie, Stoddard,
Ridderhof, Hill
NOES, COUNCILMEN:
None
ABSENT COUNCILMEN:
