. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AMEND-
ING SECTION 4201 OF CHAP-
TER 2, ARTICLE 1V OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE.
The City Council of the City of
Newport Beach does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1: Section 4201 of
the Municipal Code of the City
of Newport Beach, entitled
"Beaches, Use at Night" is hereby
amended to read as follows:
"Section 4201. Beaches, Use at
Night.
(a) No person shall be al-
lowed or permitted on the public
beaches in the City, except the
beach known as 'Little Corona'
and the Corona del Mar State
Park Beach, between the hours of
midnight and 6:00 o'clock a.m. of
the following day.
(b) No person shall be al-
lowed or permitted on the beach
known as 'Little Corona' or the
Corona del Mar State Park Beach
between the hours of 6:00 o'clock
p.m. and 6:00 o'clock a.m. of the
following day for the period com-
mencing on October 16 of each
calendar year and ending on
February 28 of the following ca-
lendar year, or between the hours
of 10:00 o'clock p.m. and 6:00
o'clock a.m. of the following day
during the period from March 1
to October 15 of each calendar
year.
(c) In the event of special cir-
cumstances so warranting, the
City Manager in his judgment is
hereby authorized and empow-
ered to modify temporarily the
hours established in paragraphs
(a) and (b) hereof by first filing
each such modification and the
specified period thereof with the
City Clerk."
SECTION 2: This ordinance
shall be published at least once
in the Newport Harbor Ensign, a
newspaper of general circulation,
printed, published and circulated
in the City of Newport Beach and
the same shall be in full force
and effect 30 days after this pas-
sage.
The above and foregoing ordi-
nance was introduced at a re-
gular meeting of the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach held
on the 17th day of June, 1957, and
was finally passed and adopted
on the 24th day of June, 1957, by
the following vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Hart,
Wilder, MacKay, Stoddard,
Higbie, Ridderhof.
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT COUNCILMEN:
Dora O. Hill.
James B. Stoddard
