AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AP-
PROVING THE ANNEXATION
TO THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH OF CERTAIN UNIN-
HABITED TERRITORY CON-
TIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AND
KNOWN AS THE "FIRST AD-
DITION TO JAMBOREE ROAD
ANNEX"
WHEREAS pursuant to the
provisions of an act of the Legis-
lature of the State of California,
known as the "Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of
1939," the City of Newport Beach
instituted proceedings for the
annexation of certain uninhab-
ited territory contiguous to the
City of Newport Beach and de.
signated as "First Addition to
Jamboree Road Annex," and
which is hereinafter more partic.
ularly described; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach by
Resolution No. 4964 set Monday;
the 25th day of May, 1959, at the
hour of 7:30 P.M. at the City
Council Chamber, City Hall, 3300
Newport Boulevard, Newport
Beach, California, as the time
and place that said City Council
would hear protests to the pro-
posed annexation of said terri-
tory to the City of Newport
Beach by any person owning
real property within the said ter-
ritory; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach has
determined in accordance with
the Annexation of Uninhabited
Territory Act of 1939 that The
Irvine Company is the owner of
the real property in the afore-
said territory proposed to be an-
nexed; and
WHEREAS, The Irvine Com-
pany, the owner of the real prop-
erty in the said uninhabited ter-
ritory, has filed its written con-
sent with the City Clerk of the
City of Newport Beach prior to
the adoption of this ordinance,
whereby it consented to the an-
nexation of said First Addition
to Jamboree Road Annex to the
City of Newport Beach and that
the property in said territory be
subjected to taxation after an-
nexation equally with property
in the City of Newport Beach to
pay the bonded indebtedness of
the City of-Newport Beach out-
standing or authorized at the
time of annexation, for the ac-
quisition, construction or com-
pletion of municipal improve-
ments; and
WHEREAS, at the time set for
the hearing of the protests as
set forth by said resolution, no
written or oral protests were
made by the owners of the ter-
ritory proposed to be annexed as
prescribed in the Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of
1939; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the
necessary proceedings relating
to annexation have been con-
ducted strictly in accordance
with the law:
NOW, THEREFORE, the City
Council of the City of Newport
Beach does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: The annexation to
the City of Newport Beach, Cali-
fornia, of that certain uninhab.
ited territory contiguous to said
city, known as "First Addition
to Jamboree Road Annex," is
hereby approved, and the same
is hereby ordained to be an-
nexed to and made a part of the
City of Newport Beach, Califor-
nia. Said territory is particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at an angle point
in the boundary line of the
City of Newport Beach; said
point being in the southeast-
erly line of Block 51 as shown
upon a map of Irvine's Sub-
division, recorded in Miscel.
laneous Record Map Book 1,
Page 88, Records of Orange
County, California, distant
thereon 377.65 feet southwest-
erly from the most easterly
corner of the south one -quar-
ter of said Block 51; thence
along said City Boundary Line
South 50° 09' 25" East on a
line parallel to the southeast-
erly prolongation of the north-
easterly line of said south one -
quarter of Block 51, a distance
of 670.41 feet to a point in the
centerline of Jamboree Road,
100 feet in width, as described
in deed, recorded in Book 4110,
Page 10, Official Records of
said Orange County; thence
along said City Boundary Line
South 82° 34' 42" East a dis-
tance of 50.00 feet to a point in
the easterly line of said Jam-
boree Road; thence southerly
along said City Boundary Line
and said easterly line of Jam.
boree Road to an angle point
in said City Boundary Line,
said point being northeasterly
of, parallel to, and distant
1320.00 feet, measured at right
angles, from the southwesterly
line of Block 56, of said Ir-
vine's Subdivision; thence
southwesterly along the east-
erly line of said Jamboree
Road to an intersection with
the southwesterly line of said
Block 56; thence northwesterly
along the southwesterly line of
said Block 56 to an intersec-
tion with the northwesterly
line of said Block 56, said
point also being in the boun.
dary line of the City of New-
port Beach; thence northeast-
erly along said City Boundary
Line and along the northwest-
erly line of said Block 56, and
along the southeasterly line of
said Block 51 to the point of
beginning.
SECTION 2: The property in
the aforesaid "First Addition to
Jamboree Road Annex" shall be
subjected to taxation after an.

SECTION 3: The boundaries of
the City of Newport Beach, Cali.

territory described herein, the
annexation of which is approved
,and ordained herein, and incor.
porated in the City of Newport
Beach, California.
SECTION 4: The proceedings
and annexation herein ordained
are had and taken under and
pursuant to the provisions of an
act of the Legislature of the
State of California, designated
and referred to as the "Annexa-
tion of Uninhabited Territory Act
of 1939."
SECTION 5: This ordinance
shall be published once in the
Newport Harbor Ensign, a news-
paper of general circulation,
printed and published in the City
of Newport Beach, and the same
shall be effective 30 days after
the date of its adoption.
This ordinance was introduced
at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Newport
Beach held on the 25th day of
May, 1959, and was adopted on
the 8th day of June, 1959, by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Hart,
Lorenz, Somers, Kingsley, Atkin-
son, Higbie, Stoddard.
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT COUNCILMEN: None.
