AN ORDINANCE OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
AMENDING SECTIONS 8100 }i
AND 8100.3 AND REPEAL-
ING SECTIONS 8100.1 AND,i
8100.2 OF THE NEWPORT
BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE K
RELATING TO THE BUILD-
ING CODE
The City Council of the City
of Newport Beach does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1: Section 8100 of
the Newport Beach Municipal
Code is amended to read:
"SECTION 8100. Adoption
of Uniform Building Code.
That certain document, three
copies of which are on file
in the office of the City
Clerk, marked and designat-
ed as 'Uniform Building
Code 1958 Edition, publish-
ed by the International Con -
feience of Building Officials;
and the whole thereof, spe-
cifically including all of the
appendices thereto, to wit:
Chapters 7, 13, 23, 25, 48,
49 and 51, except such por-
tions as are hereinafter de-
leted, modified or amended
by Section 8100.3, be and
the same is hereby adopted
as the Building Code of the
City of Newport Beach for
regulating the erection, con-
struction, enlargement, al-
teration, repair, moving, re-
moval, demolition, conver-
sion, occupancy, equipment,
use, height, area, and maim
tenance of all buildings and
structures in the City of
Newport Beach; providing
I for issuance of permits and
collection of fees therefor;
providing penalties for vio-
lation of such Code; declar-
ing and establishing fire
zones, except as in this code
modified, amended or other-
wise changed; and each and
All of the regulations, pro -
xdaione, penalties, conditions
and terms thereof are here -
by referred to, adopted and
made a part hereof as
though fully set out"
SECTION 2:. Sections 8100.1
and 8100.2 of the Newport
Beach Municipal Code are re-
pealed-
SECTION 3: Section 8100.;
of the Newport Beach Municipal
Code is amended to reed:

ment to Section 304 (if of
the Uniform Building Curie.
Section 304(el of the Um--
form Building Code herein -
before adopted in Section
8100 is amended to read as
follows:
'(a) Other Inspections. In
addition to the called in-
apections specified above, the
Building Official may make
any other inspections of any
construction work to ascer-
tain compliance with the
provisions of this Code
and other laws which are
enforced by the Department
of Building and Safety.
Five Dollars per Inspec-
tion may be charged for ad-
ditional inspections neces-
sary as a result of faulty
workmanship or material.
Notice of completion of the
work of correcting faulty
workmanship or material
shall be given the Building
Official and reinspection re-
quested.
Requests for Inspection
shall Indicate the kind of in-
spection to be made, and
shall identify the job by
owner's name and permit
number or by the name of 1
the owner and a description
of the location of the work.
For the purpose of deter-
mining compliance with
i Section 104(i), the Building
Official may cause any
structur €,te be reinspected."
SECTION' 4: This. ordinance
'shall be published once in the
Newport Harbor News Press, a!
newspaper of general circulation,
printed and published in the City
of Newport Beach, and the same
shall be effective 30 days after
the date of its adoption.
This ordinance was introduced
at a regular meeting of the City
Council of tile City of New` t
Beach held on the 13th day'`,
July, 1959, and was adopted on
the 27 day of July, 1959, by the
following vote, to wit:
