HomeMy WebLinkAbout1152 - C-2 M-1 & M-1-A Zones• • GDR :aem 2/16/66 ORDINANCE NO. 11.52 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING SECTIONS 9103.61, 9103.62, 9103.71, 9103.729 9103.91 AND 9103.92 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO THE C -2, M -1 and M -1 -A ZONES BY ADDING THERETO AND DELETING THEREFROM CERTAIN SPECIFIED USES The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Section 9103.61 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code is amended to read: "SECTION 9103.61. Uses Permitted: (a) Professional offices; community centers; social halls and clubs. (b) Retail stores; wholesale stores; wholesale bakeries; research laboratories and institutes; laundries; and storage within a building. (c) The following uses, when conducted within a building or enclosed by a solid board or masonry fence at least six (6) feet in height in each case: Creameries; bottling works; build- ing material yards; contractors yards; fuel yards; machine shops; storage of goodsand materials; and other uses which in the opin- ion of the Planning Commission are of a similar nature. (d) Signs appurtenant to any permitted use." SECTION 2. Section 9103.62 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code is amended to read: "SECTION 9103.62. Uses permitted, subject to.first securing a Use Permit in each case: (a) Dry cleaning plants; lumber yards; light manufacturing, including the manufacture and repair of boats cl®thing,,_,novel- ties and toys; gasoline service stations.; restaurants; and uses which in the opinion of the Planning Commission are of a similar nature. (b) Hotels; motels; residential uses; trailer courts; and houseboat marinas. (c) Signs, other than those appurtenant to any permitted use." SECTION 3. Section 9103.71 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code is amended to read: "SECTION 9103.71. Uses Permitted: (a) Retail and wholesale stores; wholesale bakeries; creamer- ies; bottling works; building material yards; contractors yards; fuel yards; machine shops; lumber yards; building and repair of boats; research laboratories and institutes; instrument manu- facturing; cartography; bookbinding; printing; lithography; fabri- cation of plastic products; editorial and designing; furniture upholstering; laundries; dry cleaning plants; storage, including storage of cement and lime incidental to a retail or wholesale business; manufacturing uses; and any other uses which, in the opinion of the Planning Commission are of similar nature, but under the same limitations and restrictions specified in sections governing same. (b) Signs appurtenant to any permitted use." SECTION 4. Section 9103.72 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code is amended to read: "SECTION 9103.72. Uses permitted, subject to first secur- ing a Use Permit in each case: (a) Gasoline service stations; houseboat marinas; and fish smoking, curing or freezing. (b) Professional offices; restaurants. (c) Signs, other than those appurtenant to any permitted use, including billboards." SECTION 5: Section 9103.91 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code is amended to read: "SECTION 9103.91. Uses Permitted: (a) Administrative and professional offices; residences for watchmen or custodians employed on site; employees cafe- terias or auditoriums; research laboratories and institutes; wholesale stores; machine shops; light manufacturing; furniture 'upholstering; electrical and electronic products and instru- ments manufacturing; cartography; bookbinding; printing and lithography; fabrication of plastic products; storage ware- house, excluding inflammable materials and truck terminals; editorial and designing. (b) Signs appurtenant to any permitted use, located on property of use." SECTION 6. Section 9103.92 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code is amended to read. "SECTION 9103.92. Uses permitted, subject to first secur- ing a Use Permit in each case: Furniture manufacturing; assembling and construction of paper products with finished paper stock; garment manufacturing; building and repairing of boats within a building; laundry and dry cleaning plants; gasoline service stations; manufacture of novelties, toys and small appliances; building material yards; contractors yards; restaurants; medical and dental offices and clinics; other uses which in the opinion of the Planning Commission are comparable and similar in character with the above uses." SECTION 7. This ordinance shall be published once in the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be effective 30 days after the date of its adoption.
