ORDINANCE NO. 1173
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING .
SECTION 20.02.180 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL.
CODE TO CHANGE THE DEFINITION OF "FAMILY"
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 20.02.180 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is emended to reads
"20.02.180 Family. The term 'family' shall mean an
individual or 2 or move persons related by blc�d, marriage,
or :adoption, or a group of not more than 5 persons who are
not related by blood, marriage or .adoption., cr a combined
group of related and unrelated persons where the number of
unrelated persons does not exceed 5 living together as a
single housekeeping unit in a dwelling unit."
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once in
the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be effect-
ive 30 days after the date of its adoption.
This ordinance was introduced at a .regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 25th day
of July , 1966, and was adopted on the 8th day of
August , 1966, by the following vote, to wit.,

Gruber, Cook, Shelton
NOES, COUNCILMEN: Rogers_ Fnroit
