ORDINANCE NO. 1256
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING
SECTION 12.56.140 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL
CODE RELATING TO OPERATING BICYCLES ON SIDEWALKS
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 12.56.140 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is amended to read-
"12.56.140 0 eratin Bicycle on Sidewalk. No person
shall operate or r e a icyc e., surrey cyc e, pedicab, or
other wheeled device or conveyance used for transportation
and propelled by human power, upon any sidewalk in the
City, except that bicycles may be ridden on the south one -
half of the sidewalk located on Ocean Front between F
Street and McFadden Place and between the westerly line
of the Ocean Front Parking Lot and 36th Street. The fore-
going prohibition shall not apply to children's or
invalids' tricycles, wheelchairs, or skateboards."
