• AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
AMENDING SECTION 12.24,070 AND SECTION 12.24.080
OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO
DECREASING PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMITS AND REPEALING
SECTION 12.24.060 OF SAID CODE
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 12.24.070 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is amended to read,
"12.24.070 Prima Facie Speed Limit -- FortZ Miles

na or parts thereof shall be forty miles per
hour.
Palisades Road from Jamboree Road to MacArthur
Boulevard.
Dover Drive from West Coast Highway to Westcliff
Drive.
• Eastbluff Drive from Bixia Street northerly to
Jamboree Road.
SECTION 2. Section 12.24.080 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is amended to read:

following named streets or parts thereof shall be
thirty -five miles per hour.
Superior Avenue.
Jamboree Road from Bayside Drive to East Coast
Highway.
Eastbluff Drive from Bixia Street southerly to
Jamboree Road.
Marguerite Avenue from Fifth Avenue to San Joaquin
Hills Road.
Westcliff Drive from Dover Drive to Irvine Avenue,"
SECTION 3. Section 12,24.060 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is hereby repealed.

SECTION 4. This ordinance shall be published once in
the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be
effective 30 days after the date of its adoption.
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the
9th day of June 1969, and was adopted on the
23rd day of June V 1969, by the following vote, to
wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: McInnis, Shelton,
Parsons, Marshall, Rogers, Hirth
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT COUNCILMEN: Gruber
