AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT. BEACH
AMENDING SECTI "ON 17..2.8..010 OF THE NEWPORT
BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE, ENTITLED. "MAIN.TENANCE
OF PUBLIC PIERS - REGULATIONS" RELATING TO
A TWO -HOUR TIME LIMIT ON THE 29th STREET
PIER AND FLOAT
The City Council of the City of Newport.Beach does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 17.28..01.0 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is amended to read:
"17.2:8.010 Maintenance- .of- Public,P_iers- Regulations.
Public piers and other .harbor f.acilitie.s_may. -be maintained
by the City for the purpose of .loading.and unloading
passengers, supplies, and boating.gear.and.._£or similar
purposes. It is the policy _of.the City-..to maintain such
facilities in a manner that will permit.the_ greatest
public use and avoid continuous.occupancy, congestion
or blocking thereof. Where.. necessary ..to_..achieve. -public
use and avoid extended occupancy, congestion or blocking
thereof, the City Manager..is_.authorized. and .directed to
post signs limiting the time during. ,.which...a._viessel..may
be docked or supplies or__ge.ar.- maybe placed at or on any
such pier or facility to twenty (20).minutes except the
29th Street pier and float which wilL._have...a_time limit
of two (2) hours. When such sign is in place giving
notice of such time limit, no person shall dock a vessel
at any such

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once in
the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be
effective 30 days after the date of its adoption.
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 8th
day of March , 1971, and was adopted on the 22nd day of
March , 1971, by the following vote, to wit:
