AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
AMENDING SECTION 12.12.060 OF THE NEWPORT
BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH A PARKING
PERMIT SYSTEM FOR THE PACIFIC COAST HIGHWAY
CITY PARKING LOT
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 12.12.060 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is amended to read:
"12.12.060 Pacific Coast Highway Parking Lot
A. PARKING PERMIT. It shall be unlawful for any person
to park a vehicle in the Pacific Coast Highway Parking
Lot, located on the northwest corner of Pacific Coast
Highway and Newport Boulevard, without first obtaining
a current valid parking permit issued by the Finance
Director. Such parking permit shall be effective only

SECTION 2. The City Manager is authorized to waive
the aforesaid fees established herein when a special event is
being held of a charitable or civic nature, and it is in the
best interests of the City and the general public that fees not
be charged for the use of the Pacific Coast Highway Parking Lot
in connection with said special event.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published once in
the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be
'• effective 30 days after the date of its adoption.
This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the
