HomeMy WebLinkAbout1659 - Dog Penalty11 is • ORDINANCE NO. 1659 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH ADDING SECTION 7.04.055 ENTITLED "PENALTY" TO CHAPTER 7.04 (DOGS) OF TITLE 7 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE The City Council of the City of Newport Beach DOES ORDAIN as follows: SECTION 1. Section 7.04.055 is added to the Newport Beach Municipal Code to read: "7.04.055 Penalty. It shall be unlawful for any person to violate or fail to comply with any provision of Sections 7.04.020, 7.04.030, 7.04.040 or 7.04.050 of this Code. Any person violating or failing to comply with any of the provisions of said Sections shall be guilty of an infraction. Any person convicted of violating or failing to comply with any of the provisions of said Sections shall be punishable by (1) for the first offense, a mandatory fine of Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00); (2) for the second offense within one year, a mandatory minimum fine of Twenty - five Dollars ($25.00) but not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ($100.00); and (3) for each additional violation of these same Sections within one (1) year, a mandatory minimum fine of Twenty -five Dollars ($25.00) but not to exceed Two Hundred and Fifty Dollars ($250.00). SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be published once in the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be effective thirty (30) days after the date of its adoption.
