AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
AMENDING SECTION 10.12.010 OF THE NEWPORT
BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO GIVING
FALSE INFORMATION TO A POLICE OFFICER
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 10.12.010 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is amended to read as follows:
"Any person who, while lawfully detained by,
or lawfully in the custody of, a peace officer
makes .any false statements to that officer
concerning any matter material to the duties
of the officer, with the intent of misleading
the peace officer in the performance of his
official duties, and knowing the statement to
be false, is guilty of a misdemeanor."
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be published once in
the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be
• effective thirty (30) days after the date of its adoption.
This Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the
day of Sept. 14, 1981, and was adopted on the 13th day of October ,
1981, by the following vote, to wit:
