AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
RESCINDING SECTION 12.66.040 OF THE
NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE REMOVING
VEHICLE CODE ENFORCEMENT FROM PRIVATE
STREETS IN NEWPORT CREST
• WHEREAS, Newport Crest is currently subject to
enforcement of the Vehicle Code pursuant to Section 12.66.040 of
the Newport Beach Municipal Code as authorized by Vehicle Code
Section 21107.7; and
WHEREAS, a request has been made to the City Council by
the Newport Crest Homeowners Association and the Traffic Affairs
Committee for removal of California Vehicle Code enforcement; and
WHEREAS, Newport Crest Homeowners Association shall
enforce private restrictions on said roads.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach DOES ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 12.66.040 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is hereby repealed.
• SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be published once in
the official newspaper of the.City, and the same shall be
effective thirty (30) days after the date of its adoption.
This Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 9th
day of August , 1982, and was adopted on the 23rd day of August ,
1982, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCIL MEMBERS Heather, Cox,
Hummel, Hart, Strauss, Maurer, Plummer
NOES, COUNCIL MEMBERS None
