AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
AMENDING PROVISIONS OF CHAPTER 10.54.020 AND
REPEALING SECTION 11.08.010 OF THE NEWPORT
BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE RELATING TO DRESSING IN
PUBLIC PLACES AND PUBLIC NUDITY.
SECTION 1. Section 10.54.020 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is hereby amended as follows:
10.54.020 Prohibition. No person shall appear, bathe,
sunbathe, walk, dress or undress, or be on any public park,
playground, beach or the water adjacent to, or on any other
public land, or in any private property opened to public view
from any public beach, playground, park, public place or public
right -of -way in such a manner that the genitals, pubic hair,
buttocks, anus, anal regions, natal cleft, perineum, or pubic
hair region of any person, or any portion of the breast at or
below the upper edge of the areola thereof of any female person,
is exposed to public view or is not covered by an opaque
covering.
SECTION 2. Section 11.08.010 of the Newport Beach
• Municipal Code is hereby repealed.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be published once in
the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be effec-
tive 30 days after the date of its adoption.
This Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on
the 28th day of February , 1983, and was adopted on
the 14th day of March , 1983, by the following
vote, to wit:
