ORDINANCE NO. 87 -3
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING SECTION 5.40.060 OF THE
NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO
HANDBILL EXCEPTIONS
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 5.40.060 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"The provisions of Sections 5.40.020 through
5.40.050 shall not be deemed to apply to the
distribution of mail by the United States Post
Office or to newspapers.
Section 2. The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk
shall attest to the passage of this Ordinance. The City Clerk
shall cause the same to be published once in the official
newspaper within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. The
Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days from its
adoption.
This Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council, City of Newport Beach, held on the 26th day
of January , 1987 and was adopted on the 9th day
of February , 1987 by the following votes to wit.

Plummer, Sansone, Turner
NOES, COUNCILMEMBERS
