AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING SECTIONS 12.24.065 AND
12.24.080 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE
REGARDING REDUCING THE PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT OF
RIDGE PARK ROAD FROM SAN JOAQUIN HILLS ROAD TO
NEWPORT COAST DRIVE
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach does hereby ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: Section 12.24.065, 'Prima Facie Speed Limit — Forty -five Miles Per Hour ",
is repealed and replaced to read as follows:
Section 12.24.065, Prima Facie Speed Limit — Forty -five Miles Per
Hour.
The prima facie speed limit on the following named streets or
parts thereof shall be forty -five (45) miles per hour:
• Avocado Avenue from Coast Highway to San Miguel Drive.
• Eastbluff Drive from Vista del Oro to Jamboree Road
(south).
• Ford Road from Jamboree Road to MacArthur Boulevard.
• Ford Road from Newport Hills Drive West to San Miguel
Drive.
• Irvine Avenue from Mesa Drive to Orchard Drive.
• Irvine Avenue from Monte Vista Avenue to Mesa Drive.
• Newport Center Drive.
• Ridge Park Road from Newport Coast Drive to End of
Street East.
• San Joaquin Hills Road from Jamboree Road to MacArthur
Boulevard.
• San Joaquin Hills Road from MacArthur Boulevard to
Marguerite Avenue.
• San Miguel Drive from San Joaquin Hills Road to Ford
Road.
• University Drive from Jamboree Road to La Vida.
• Vista Ridge Road.
SECTION 2: Section 12.24.080, 'Prima Facie Speed Limit -- Thirty Miles Per Hour ", is
repealed and replaced to read as follows:
Section 12.24.080, Prima Facie Speed Limit -- Thirty Miles Per
Hour.
The prima facie speed limit on the following named streets or
parts thereof shall be thirty (30) miles per hour:
• Balboa Boulevard from Median Way to 23r6 Street.
• Balboa Boulevard from 23'' Street to 32nd Street.
• Balboa Boulevard from 32n0 Street to Coast Highway.
• Bayside Drive from Carnation Avenue to Marguerite
Avenue.
• Hospital. Road from Newport Boulevard to Superior
Avenue.
• Irvine Avenue from 151" Street to 16`h Street.
• Ridge Park Road from San Joaquin Hills Road to
Newport Coast Drive.
• Riverside Avenue from Coast Highway to Cliff Drive.
• Santa Rosa Drive.
• Vista Del Oro from Eastbluff Drive (Corona del Mar High
School area) northerly to Vista del Sol.
• West side of Dover Drive from Westcliff Drive to Irvine
Avenue.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk shall cause the same to be published once in the official
newspaper of the City, and it shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption.
SECTION 4: This Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach held on the 8th day of June, 2004, and adopted on the 22nd day of
June, 2004, by the following vote, to wit:

the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the
22nd day of June 2004, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote, to wit:
Ayes: Heffernan, Rosansky, Bromberg, Webb, Nichols, Mayor Ridgeway
Noes: None
Absent: Adams
Abstain: None
