AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA
REPEALING CHAPTER 1.30 PERTAINING TO
CAMPAIGN DOCUMENTS
WHEREAS, the City Council recognizes that the City's present campaign
document regulations, as found in Chapter 1.30 of the Municipal Code of the City of
Newport Beach, has not been enforced in past years and is questionable as far as whether
or not it is constitutional.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach hereby
ordains as follows:
SECTION 1: Chapter 1.30 of Title 1 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code is
hereby repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 2: The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall attest to the passage
of this ordinance. The City Clerk shall cause the same to be published once in the official
newspapers of the City, and it shall be effective thirty (30) days after its adoption.
SECTION 3. This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 22"d day of July, 2008, and adopted on
the 12`h day of August, 2008, by the following vote, to wit:

ordinance, being Ordinance No. 2008 -15 was duly and regularly introduced before and adopted by
the City Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council, duly and regularly held on the
12th day of August 2008, and that the same was so passed and adopted by the following vote, to wit:
Ayes: Henn, Webb, Daigle, Gardner, Mayor Selich
Noes: None
Absent: None
Abstain: Rosansky, Curry
