RESOLVED, That a cement sidewalk, sixteen et in width, be constructed along and upon the North side of Avenue in said City, to the official line and. grade of Ocean Avenue; (which official line and grade is established Section 4 of Ordinance No. 18 of the City of Newport Beach, ordinance is now on file in, and is one of the records the office of the City Clerk of said City); from the West 14 1jmurb line of Thirtieth Street to the East curb line of Thirty- 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 th Street; excepting along such portions of said Ocean Avenue tween said curb lines of said 'Thirtieth and Thirty -Sixth Streets, on and along which a cement sidewalk already has been constructed; the said sidevelk shall be constructed in accordance with the ecifications hereinafter set forth, which specifications are follows, to wit: (1) The earth foundation shall be filled in and tamped 22 l�olid to such a height as, when surfaced, shall conform to the 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 established by Section 4 of said Ordinance No. 18. (2) The cement surface shall consist of a foundation r, two and one -half inches thick, of concrete, composed of ven parts of fine, clean gravel, to one part of approved cement, operly mixed, and well1amped into place, and a top layer of ment one -half inch thick, composed of equal parts of clean sand and approved cement, to be floated and trowled to an n smooth surface, sloping towards the street in the ratio of e- sixteenth of an inch offall to a foot of sidewalk. r� eviz6 s� 1 Section 2. RESOLVED, That a cement dire constructed 2 along and upon the North side of Ocean Avenue in said City, to 3 the official line and grade of said Ocean Avenue; (which official 4 line and grade is established by Section 4 of Ordinance No. 18 5 of the City of Newport Beach, which ordinance is now on file in, 6 and is one of the records of the office of the City Clerk of 7 said City); from the West curb line of Thirtieth Street to the 8 East curb line of Thirty -Sixth Street; exceptrg along such 9 portions of .said Ocean Avenue between said curb lines of said 10 Thirtieth and Thirty -Sixth Streets, upon and along which a cement 11 curb already has been constructed; and the said cement curb shall 12 a constructed in accordance with the specifications hereinafter 13 set forth, which specifications are as follows, to wit: 14 (1) The said curb shall be placesand constructed 15 long and adjoining the South line of the cement sidewalk provided 16 or in Section 1 of this Resolution. 17 (2) The said curb shall consist of a core ten inches 18 thick at the bottom, seven inches thick at the top, and eighteen 19 Inches deep; it shall be composed of the same material as that 20 J�of the cement side-v4alk described in Subdivision 2 of Section 1 21 1bf this Resoltuion and set with the batter towards the street. 22 (3) The top of the said curb, when $nished, shall be 23 in line with the shping surface of the cement sidewalk, as 24 described in Section 1 of this Resolution; the said top and the 25 upper ten inches of the batter, or street face, shall be dressed 26 lone-half inch thick with the same finish as that provided for the 27 Dement sidewalk, in Subdivision 2 of said Section 1 of this 28 • 29 30 31 32 solution. Section 3. WHEREAS, There is no daily, semi - weekly, or weekly newspaper printed, published or circulated in the City of Newport Beach in which this Resolution of Intention and the notice of the passage thereof may be published, it is therefore —2— R-, w h . 1 2' 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLVED That the City Clerk of said City be, and he is hereby directed to post this Resolution of Intention conspic- usously, for two days, on or near the doors of the Council Chamber TaasTees of the Board of Raetas of said City, and to cause the same to be printed and posted in three of the most public places therein, and to keep the said Resolution so posted for the period of two weeks. RESOLVED That the Superintendent of Streets of said City be, and he is hereby directed to post notice of the passage and adoption of this Resolution in the manner and in the form requred by law, and to c/610e a notice, similar in substance thereto, to be posted at the door of the Council Chamber for six consecutive days. Section 4. RESOLVED That the Street work hereinbefore provided to be done is required by the public interest and convenience.
