A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DECLARING THEIR INTENTION TO
CHANGE AND REESTABLISH THE GRADES OF CERTAIN
PORTIONS OF SURF ;.AVENUE IN SAID CITY
The Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beach do re-
Isolve as follows:
Section One
It is the intention of the Board of Trustees to order the
following change of grade to be made, to wit:
To change and re- establish the official grade of Surf A
along the northerly line of said Surf Avenue from the easterly line
of Alvarado Street to the easterly line of B Street, so that instea
of the present grades the same shall conform to the following eleva
tions, to wit:
At the northeasterly corner of Alvarado Street, the grade shall be
112.00;
At the northwesterly corner of Coronado Street, the grade shall be
113.00;
At the northeasterly corner of Coronado Street, the grade shall be
113.00;
At the northwesterly corner of the Alley between Coronado Street
and Adams Street, the grade shall be 113.00;
At the northeasterly corner of the Alley between Coronado Street
Adams Street, the grade shall be 113.00;
At the northwesterly corner of Adams Street the grade shall be 113-(0
At the northeasterly corner of Adams Street the grade shall be 113-(0
At the northwesterly corner of Palm Street the grade shall be 113-0(;
At the northeasterly corner of Palm Street the grade shall be 113.0
At the northwesterly corner of Washington Street the grade shall be
113.00;
At the northeasterly corner of Washington Street, the grade shall b
113.00;
At the northwesterly corner of Main Street, the grade shall be 113.(0
At the northeasterly corner of Main Street, the grade shall be 113.(
At the northwesterly corner of A Street, the grade shall be 113.00;
IAt the northeasterly corner of A Street, the grade shall be 113.00;
At the northwesterly corner of B Street, the grade shall be 113.00;
At the northeasterly corner of B Street, the grade shall be 113.00;

Section Two
.Xhe elevations herein given are for the top of the sidewalk
are in feet and are above the City Datum Plane, as heretofore adopt
and established. At all points between consecutive designated
points along the northerly line of said Surf Avenue, the grade
shall conform to a true and uniform gradient between said designates
points.
Section Three
The said changes of grade shall be made under the provision
of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California known as
the "Change of Grade Act of 1909 ".
Section Four
The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this resolu-
tion and shall post the same conspicuously for two days on or near
the chamber door of this Board of Trustees and shall cause the same
to be published by two insertions in the Newport News, a weekly
newspaper, printed, published and circulated in said City, which
is hereby designated for that purpose, and said Newport News is
hereby designated as the newspaper in which the Street Superinten-
dent shall publish notice of the passage of this resolution.

and approved this 9th day of April, 1917.
