HomeMy WebLinkAbout148 - Alley Improvements - Plan 256• • 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 COPY RESOLUTION NO. 14s COPY A RESOL UTION OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH, ORDERING CERTAIN WORX TO BE DONE UPON CERTAIN PORTIONS OF THE ALLEY SITUATED BETWEEN ALVARADO PLACE AND CORONADO STREET AND RUNITING PARALLEL ',WITH SAID STREETS WITHIN SAID CITY. Be it resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of Newport Beac" as follows: SECTION ONE. That the said Board deems it to be required by the public interest and convenience, and hereby orders that the following work to be done, to wit: That the Alley situated between Alvarado Place and Coronado Street from the southerly line of the second Alley northery of Day Avenue to the northerly line of the first Alley northerly, of Bay Avenue within said City be graded for its entire width to the official grade and a surface be constructed there- upon of clay and gravel in accordance with Plan No. 256 adopted by Resolution !to. 145 of the Board of Trustees of said City and on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City and in further accordance with Specifications No. 23 adopted by Ordinance No. 119 of the Board of Trustees of said City and on file in the 6ffice of the City Clerk of said City. SECTION TWO. That the said contemplated work or improvement of said Alley described in Section One hereof, is in the opinion of the Board of Trustees of said City, of more than local or ordinary public benefit, said Board hereby makes the expense of said work or improvement chargeable upon a district, which district said Board hereby declares to be the district benefited by said work or improvement, and to be assessed to pay the costs and expenses thereof, which said district is bounded and described as follows, to wit: Beginning at the navthwest corner of Lot Forty -seven (47) of a Map of sub- division of Block C, Newport Bay Tract, as recorded in Miscellaneous Records Book No. 5, Page 25, Records of Orange County, California; thence easterly in a direct line to the northeast corner of Lot Thirty- seven(37) of the aforesaid Newport Bay Tract; thence southerly in a direct line to the southeast corner of Lot Forty -six (46) of the aforesaid Newport Bay Tract; thence westerly in a direct line to the southwest corner if Lot Fifty -six -1- 1 • 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 • 28 29 30 31 32 (56) of the aforesaid Newport Bay Tract; thence northerly in a direct line to the northwest corner of Lot Forty -seven (47) of the aforesaid Map of the Newport Bay Tract, the place of beginning, excepting therefrom lands forming any part of any public Street or Alley. SECTION THREE. All the proceedings for the aforesaid improvement shall be taken under and in accoddance with the provisions of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, known adn designated as the "Improvement Act of 1911," anddall acts amendatory thereof. SECTION FOUR. The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish a notice inviting proposals for doing said work, and referring to the specifications posted and on file, twice in She Nev,port News, a weekly newspaper, printed, published and cir- culated in said City (there "being no daily or semi- creekly newspaper so printed published and circulated in said City), and which is hereby designated for that purpose, and he is also directed to post said notice, with specifications, conspicuously for five days on or.near the council chamber door of said Board of Trustees. The time fixed in said notice for the opening of bids shall be at the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M. of the 14th day of November, 1921. SECTION FIVE. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and shall cause a minute of the passage thereof to be entered in the records of the Board. of Trustees of the meeting at which said resolution was passad „mod shall also keep the same on file in his office.
