RESOLUTION NO. y %3•
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH, ADOPTING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
FOR THE ERECTION AND CONSTRUCTION OF A LIBRARY
BUILDING IN SAID CITY AND DIRECTING THE CLERK OF
SAID CITY TO PUBLISH A NOTICE INVITING BIDS.
It appearing to the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach that the City Library Building was wholly in-
adequate for the needs and uses of the City of Newport Beach,
and,
WHEREAS, said building has been sold to the high-
est and beet bidder for cash, lawful money of the United States,
and the City of Newport Beach has agreed to give possession
to the purchaser on or before the3lst day of Idaay, 1929; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that another building
be immediately constructed for the purpose of housing the
equipment and books of the old library, and for the use of the
public of said City of Newport Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; That the plans
and specifications for a new library building, as prepexed by
H. L. Sherman, and submitted this 11th day of March, 1929,
be, and the same are hereby adopted as and for the plane and
specifications for doing said work and making said improvement,
and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED; That the City Clerk
give a notice to contractors inviting bids for the construction
and completion of said library building in accordance with the
plans and specifications herein on file, and as provided by law
and that said notice be published three (3),times in Newport
News, a newspaper of general circulation, printed, published
and circulated in the City of Newport Beach.
