RESOLUTION NO. 4049
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
has heretofore adopted a Resolution approving the acquisition of
certain real property in China Cove for park, beach and recrea-
tional purposes, as a part of the Master Plan of Shore Line Dev-
elopment of Orange County and the State of California; and
WHEREAS, the State of California has offered to purchase
said real property for a public beach on the basis of the City of
Newport Beach furnishing "matching lands "; and
WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach, subsequent to the
approval of the said County and State Master Plan, did adopt its
own plan in relation to China Cove, and did acquire certain pro-
perty therein, which said plan and acquisition of property con-
templates the acquisition of a lesser total amount of real pro-
perty in that area than the heretofore approved Master Plan of
the County of Orange and of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, said next above referred to plan of the City
of Newport Beach also contemplates the acquisition of certain
other real property adjacent to or near said China Cove for ad-
ditional park, beach and recreational purposes as a part of the
Master Plan of Shore Line Development of Orange County and the
State of California, said additional real property being describ
ed as Block A -34 and Lot C, more particularly described below;
and
WHEREAS, it is felt that the City Council of the City
of Newport Beach should declare the change in its plan from the
said Shore Line Master Plan of the County of Orange and of the
State of California in order to remove the effect of the County
and State Plan from property not covered by the new plan of the
City and in order to place said additional property proposed to
be so acquired under first priority;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council

of the City of Newport Beach hereby withdraws its previous ac-
tion in approving the Master Plan of the County of Orange and
in its participation in the Master Plan of the State of Calif-
ornia in respect to all of the first priority property in China
Cove, with the exception of the following described property,
now owned by the City of Newport Beach:
Lots 6, 7, 8, 14, 15 and 16, Block B -32; and Lots 5,
6, 9 and 10, Block B -33, of Corona del Mar, as shown
on a Map recorded in Book 3, pages 41 and 42 of Mis-
cellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following described
real property be made a part of the Master Plan of Shore Line
Development of Orange County and the State of California, on
a first priority basis:
Parcel 1: Block A -34 of Corona del Mar, as shown on
a Map recorded in Book 3, pages 41 and 42
of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange
County, California.
Parcel 2: Block C of Tract 673, as per map recorded
in Book 20, pages 17 and 18 of Miscellan-
eous Maps, Records of Orange County, Calif-
ornia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County of Orange and
the State of California be, and they are hereby, requested to
amend said Master Plan in accordance with the action taken in
this Resolution.
The above and foregoing Resolution was duly and regul-
arly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach, at a regular meeting thereof, held on the 9th
day of March, 1953, by the following vote, to wit:

the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of said
City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on the
9th day of March 19 53by the following
