PROTT:STINO r{,W ENACTUM OF SMATE BILL 1100
WHMZA3* there is pending before the 1953 Legislature
of the State of California Senate Bill 1100, the effect of which,
if enacted into law, would seriously affect the amount of raven -
uss derived by the City of Neiv�ovrt 'teach from the amounts collec-
ted by the Justice Court of the Newticrt Beach Judicial District;
and
WHERKA5s it appears to this Council that the costs of
maintenance of said Justice Court should properly be born by the
County of Orange rather than by the City of Newport Beach;
BOW, THFRF.FORE, BE IT K'SOLVED. that this Council goes
on record as protesting the enactment into lam of senate Bill
1100 as now pending before the Senate Judiciary Committee of the
1953 Legislature;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this
Resolution be sent to the senate Judiciary Committee prior to
Its hearing on WonW, , March 30, 1953, and also that a certified
copy hereof be sent to the .Honorable Earl W. Stanley, As$embly-
man from the District in which this City lies, and to the Honor-
able John Hurdy, the State Senator for this District.
The above and foregoing Bpsolution was duly and regul-
arly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of New-
port Beach, at a regular meeting thereof, held on the a.)f4 day
of March, 1953, by the following vote, to wit:
