RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF MPORT BBACH, CALIFORNIA,
DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS OF
ELECTION RETURNS OF ELECTION HELD IN
SAID CITY ON A)?RXL 8, 1958.
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach,
California, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER
as follows:
Section 1. That a special bond election was
duly called and regularly held in said city on the 8th
day of April 1958 , at which election there were
submitted to the qualified voters of said city the
following propositions, to wit:
PROPOSITION A - PMICE WJII.DIM
BOKWz Shall the City of Newport Beech
Incur a bonded indebtedness in the
Principal amount of $150,000 for the
acquisition and construction by said city
of a certain municipal Im "vement, to Witt
additions to the Police Dspsrtsiont wing of
the City gall, including the acquisition
of all furniture, fixtures furnishings,
equipent and other propery necessary
therefor?

PROPOSITION B - VIRE FIGHTING BONDS:
Shall the City of Newport Beach incur a
bonded indebtedness in the principal amount
of $1500000 for than acquisition and corstrue-
tion by said city of a certain municipal
improvement, to gait: replacements of the
fire fighting system of said city as follows:
(1) a new fire station to serve the Central
Newport, Balboa and Balboa Peninsula area of
the City of Newport Beach, replacing present
fire station No. 1, including the acquisition
Of land, furniture, fixtures, furnishings,
equipment and other property necessary therefor,
replace f� engine Noo.. 4f serving Balboa Island
and nearby mainland areas?
PROPOSITION C - STREET 101PROVEMENT BONDS:
Shall thocity of Newport Beach incur a bonded
Indebtedness in the principal amount of $310,000
for the acquisition and construction by said
city of a certain municipal improvement, to wit-
street Improvements in the city in the triangular
area bounded by 32nd Street, Balboa Boulevard
and Newport Boulevard, including the widening
of eixistins streets and the construction of now
streets, together with the acquisition of land,
easements, rights of way and other property
necessary therefor?
PROPOSITION D - CORONA IML MAR PUUJC
LIBRARY BONDS: Shall the City of Newport
Beach incur a bonded indebtedness in the
DrinoiMl amount of $1110,000 for the acquisi-
tion and construction by said city of a certain
municipal improvement, to wits a public library
In Corona del Tar, together with the planting
and landscaping of grounds, including the
acquisition of all furniture, fixtures, furnish-
ings and other property necessary therefor?
Section 2. That the returns of said election have
been duly and regularly canvassed by this City Council an
provided by law, and all absentee ballots received have
been counted and canvassed as provided by law.
Section 3. That the votes oast in the precincts
established for said election upon said propositions and
for and against said propositions, the absentee votes east
upon said propositions and for and against said propositions

Section 4. That the votes of less than two-
thirds of all the voters voting at said election were
cast in favor of the adoption of said bond propositions,
and said bond propositions are hereby declared to have
failed to carry at said election.
Section 5. That the City Clerk of this City
is hereby directed to enter this resolution in full in
the minutes of this City Council.
