HomeMy WebLinkAbout4939 - Assembly Bill 2861b /19c(12) 1 RESOLUTION NO. 313f 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH EXPRESSING ITS OPPOSITION TO 3 THE PASSAGE OF ASSEMBLY BILL NO. 286 4 5 WHEREAS, the.City of Newport Beach has the grave respon- 6 sibility of maintaining an adequate and pure water supplyfor the 7 citizens of the City; and 8 WHEREAS, the City's principal source of supply is water 9 imported by The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California; 10 and 11 WHEREAS, it is well established that water supplies are 12 most often polluted by human contacts and the introduction of 13 trash and contaminants through indifference of those engaged in 1411 recreational activities on or near domestic water reservoirs; and 1511 WHEREAS, the treatment of water contaminated by such 3111 This resolution was adopted by the City Council of the 3211 City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting on the 9th day of March,j 16 contacts substantially increases the cost of such water to the 17 consumer; and 18 WHEREAS, the adoption of A.
