. 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE
• 3 EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY
OF ORANGE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN
4 STREET AND TRAFFIC CONTROL IMPROVEMENTS

6 WHEREAS, the City of Newport Beach and the County of
7 Orange entered into an agreement on August 6, 1957, for the County
8 to improve Bayside Drive northerly from Coast Highway and install
9 traffic signals at Bayside Drive and Coast Highway; and
10 WHEREAS, the City and County entered into a supplemental
11 agreement on December 24, 1957, for the County to construct and
12 improve Marine Avenue for a distance of approximately 300 feet
13 southwesterly from Coast Highway; and
14 WHEREAS, it is now convenient to both the City and County
15 and in the public interest to have the County install a traffic
16 signal and perform traffic channelization work at the intersection
17 of Marine. Avenue and Coast Highway; and
18 WHEREAS, the total estimated cost of the City's share of j
19 all of the work above mentioned is $25,500.00; and.
20 WHEREAS, the City has to its credit with the County the
21 sum of $22,041,97 under an appropriation titled "Aid to Cities
22 (Carryover) ", which sum the County is willing to accept as settle -
23 ment in full of all amounts due it from the City for all of said
24 construction work; and
25 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City Council of
26 the City of Newport Beach a certain agreement between the City of
27 Newport Beach and the County of Orange for the construction or
28 completion by the County of said work, with the County to accept
29 as settlement in full of all amounts due it as the City's share
30 of the cost thereof the sum of $22,041.97 remaining to the credit
31 of City in the appropriation "Aid to Cities ( Carryover)"; and
32 WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the terms of said

agreement and found them to be fair and equitable and in the best
interests of the City;
N%T, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that said agreement be approved and that
the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute the
same on behalf of the City of Newport Beach.
This resolution was adopted by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting on the 9th day of March,
19590 by the following vote, to wit: /

Beach, California, do hereby certify that according to the records
of the City of Newport Beach filed and maintained in my office,
the foregoing Resolution No. 4943 was duly and
regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of
said City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on
the 9th day of March 1959 , by the following
vote, to wit:
