2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
3 A GRANT DEED

5 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
6 has publicly invited bids for the purchase of surplus City property
7 consisting of:
8 Lot 8 in Block 51 of River Section, in the City of
Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of California,
9 as per map thereof recorded in Book 4, Page 25, of
Miscellaneous Maps in the office of the County
10 Recorder of said County.
ll Excepting the southwesterly 119 feet of said Lot 8.
12 Excepting also that portion lying northwesterly of
the northerly line of Lot 2, Section 29, T. 6 S.,
13� R. 10 W., San Bernardino meridian.
14 Including that certain parcel of land situated in
Section 29, T. 6 S., R. 10 W., San Bernardino
15 meridian, City of Newport Beach, County of Orange,
State of California, described as follows:

Beginning at the point of intersection of the
17 southeasterly line of Lot 8, in Block 51, said
River Section, and that certain course of the
18 northerly line of Lot 2, Section 29, T. 6 S.,
R. 10 W., San Bernardino meridian, which course
19 bears South 630 43' East; thence westerly along
the northerly line of said Lot 2, Section 29, to
20 its intersection with the northwesterly line of
said Lot 8, said Block 51; thence northeasterly
21 along said northwesterly line of said Lot 8, and
its northeasterly prolongation to its intersection
22 with the line of ordinary high tide of the Pacific
Ocean in Newport Bay designated as "SOUTH LINE ",
23 in final decree entered August 22, 1928 in Superior
Court action 23686, a certified copy thereof being
24 recorded September 19, 1928 in Book 201, Page 253,
Official Records; thence southeasterly along said
25 tide line to its intersection with the northeast-
erly prolongation of the southeasterly line of
26 said Lot 8; thence southwesterly in a straight
line to the point of beginning;

29 WHEREAS, both written and oral bids were received by the
30 City Council on April 27, 1959, at which time Marvin Lee was the
31 high bidder for the purchase of said property; and

WHEREAS, the bid of said high bidder was accepted by the
City and the property ordered sold by the City Council;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and City
Clerk be and are hereby authorized and directed to execute a grant
deed on behalf of the City of Newport Beach granting the above
described real property to said high bidder or to the person desig-
nated by him in writing.
This resolution was. adopted by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting on the 27th day of
April, 1959, by the following vote, to wit:

Beach, California, do hereby certify that according to the records
of the City of Newport Beach filed and ,maintained in my office,
the foregoing Resolution. Not 4974 was duly and
regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of
said City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on
the 27t� _. day of April 1959, by the following
vote, to wits
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Hart, Lorenz, Somers, Kingsley,
Atkinson, Higbie, Stoddard
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
