RESOLUTION NO. 4993
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH APPOINTING A BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS
WHEREAS, Chapter 5 was added to Article VIII of the
Newport Beach Municipal Code by ordinance No. 873; and
WHEREAS, Section 8501 of said Municipal Code as adopted
provides that the City Council shall appoint a Board of Adjustments
as provided therein; and
WHEREAS, the provisions of the Code adopted by ordinance
No. 873 will become effective on June 10, 1959; and
WHEREAS, it is important that the Board of Adjustments
begin functioning upon the effective date of said provisions;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach that the following persons be appointed to
the Board of Adjustments:
J. Herbert Brownell;
Urban Beh;
James L. Rubel, Jr.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said members are to classify
themselves by lot so that the initial term of one of each of their
number shall expire each succeeding July 1.
This resolution was adopted by the 4.ty Council of the
City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting on the 11th day of May,
19590 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Haut, Lorenz, Somers,
Kingsley, Atkinson, Higbie, Stoddard
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT COUNCILMEN: None

I, MARGERY SCHROUDER, City Clerk of the City of Newport
Beach, California, do hereby certify that according to the records
of the City of Newport Beach filed and ,maintained in my office,
the foregoing Resolution No. 4993 was duly and
regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of
said City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on
the 11th day of May , 1959, by the following
vote, to wits
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Hart, Lorenz, Somers, Kingsley,
Atkinson, Higbie, Stoddard
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
