S-P y 9 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NMjPORT BEACH CONFIRMING REPORT OF STREET SUPERINTENDENT ON WEED ABATEMENT WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 4 of Article VII of the Newport Beach Municipal Code, by Resolution No. 4988 declared weeds on certain streets, sidewalks, parkways, and private property in said City to be a public nuisance, and designated the Street Superintendent of the City of Newport Beach as the person to give notice to destroy such weeds, which notice was given by him in accordance with the above mentioned chapter and article of the Municipal Code; and WHEREAS, pursuant to said notice a public hearing was held to allow protests to the removal of such weeds and, no protests having been made or received, the City Council ordered the Street Superintendent to proceed with the abatement of weeds and thereafter accepted and approved a proposal for such abatement; and V!HEREAS, the Street Superintendent of the City of Newport Beach kept an account of the cost of abatement and, upon the com- pletion of said weed abatement, rendered an itemized report in writing to the City Council showing the cost of removing the weeds on or in front of each separate lot or parcel of land; and WHEREAS, before the said itemized report was submitted to the City Council, the Street Superintendent posted a copy of it for at least three days on the bulletin board at the City Hall, with a notice that the 13th day of July, 1959, at 7:30 P. M. had been fixed as the time, and the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of Newport Beach had been fixed as the place, for submission of said report to the City Council for confirmation and for hearing objections to the acceptance of said work and the • 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9' 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 assessment of the costs therefor against the parcels of land from which the weed nuisance had been abated, and the required notice was given as provided for by Section 7424 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code; and bMEREAS, no objections to the acceptance of said work and assessment of the costs therefor were submitted to the City Council at said hearing; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the itemized report of the Street Superintendent of the City of Newport Beach showing the cost of removing the weeds on or in front of each separate lot or parcel of land designated therein, which report is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof, be and the same is hereby confirmed and the cost of abating the nuisance in front of or upon the various parcels as confirmed shall constitute a special assessment against the respective parcels of land and shall be a lien thereon until paid. Attached hereto and made a part hereof, is a list of the parcels of land on which work was done and the amounts of assessment to be levied thereon. NOTICE OF HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 13th day of July, 1959, at the hour of seven thirty o'clock (7:30 P.M.) in the Chambers of the City Council in the City Hall of the City of Newport Beach; any and all persons having any objections to "Weed Abatement", under the provisions of Resolution No. 4988 of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, may appear and show cause why said work should not be accepted by the City of Newport Beach and the costs for said abatement assessed against the parcels of land from which the weed nuisance has been abated.
