2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NMJPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
3 OF A QUITCLAIM DEED.

5'1 i +IHEREAS, the City Council by Resolution No, 5037 vacated
6 and abandoned portions of Balboa Boulevard consisting of six -foot
711 strips along the northerly side thereof between "C" and "F" Streets;
8 and
9 IIHEREAS, by virtue of ownership of land in the Balboa
10 Boulevard right -of -way adjoining said strips, title to a portion
11 thereof reverted to the City of Newport Beach; and
12 LJHEREAS, the City has no practical need for said land,
13 it is of value only to the owners of the land adjoining on the north
14 and it would be to the benefit of the City and in the public inter -
15 est to have such land under the ownership of and cared for by the
16 respective property owners adjoining said strips of land on the
17 north; and
18 lr7HEREAS, the value of the portion of said strips fronting
19 on each lot which reverted to the City would not exceed $100; and
20 WHEREAS, the property owners are willing to pay that amoun
21 ` Ito the City;
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that in consideration of
23 $4,400 for the City's interest the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
24 authorized and directed to execute a quitclaim deed quitclaiming to
2511the adjoining property owners the City's interest in the following
2611described land in the City of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State
27 11 of California:
28 Parcel 1:
29 A strip of land six feet wide extending between the
southwesterly prolongation of the northwesterly line
30 of Lot 1, Block 17, East Side Addition to the Balboa
Tract recorded in Miscellaneous Tdap Book 4, Page 20,
31 Records of Orange County, California, and the south-
westerly prolongation of the southeasterly line of
32 Lot 18, said Block 17, and adjacent to and south-
westerly of the southwesterly line of said Block 17.

Parcel 2:
A strip of land six feet wide extending between the
southwesterly prolongation of the northwesterly line
of Lot 1, Block 19, East Side Addition to the Balboa
Tract recorded in Miscellaneous Map Book 4, Page 20,
Records of Orange County, California, and the south-
westerly prolongation of the southeasterly line of
Lot 12, said Block 19, and adjacent to and south-
westerly of the southwesterly line of said Block 19.
Parcel 3:.
A strip of land six feet wide extending between the
southwesterly prolongation of the northwesterly line
of Lot 1, Block 21, East Side Addition to the Balboa
Tract recorded in Miscellaneous Map Book 4, Page 20,
Records of Orange County, California, and the south-
easterly prolongation of the northeasterly line of
Lot 14, said Block 21, and.adjacent to and south-
westerly of the southwesterly line of said Block 21.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney is author-
ized and directed to forward said deed to the California Bank,
Mariners Branch, for deposit in Escrow No. 187 -773 for use of said
adjoining property owners only after the payment of said $4,400 to
the City.
This resolution was adopted by the City Council of the
11 City of Newport Beach at a regular meeting on the 13th day of July,
1959, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Hart, Lorenz, Somers,
Kingsley, Atkinson, Stoddard
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT COUNCILMEN: Higbie

Beach, California, do hereby certify that according to the records
of the City of Newport Beach filed and :aaintained in my office,
the foregoing Resolution No. 5053 was duly and
regularly adopted, passed, and approved by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach, California, at a regular meeting of
said City Council held at the regular meeting place thereof, on
the 13th day of July , 19 59, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Hart„ Lorenz, Somers, Kingsley,
Atkinson, Stoddard
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABbENT, COUNCILMEN: Higbie
