RESOLUTION NO. 6637
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BENCH CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF
ANNEXATION PROCEEDINGS PURSUANT TO THE INHABITED
TERRITORY ANNEXATION ACT OF 1913 TO BE KNOWN AS
ANNEXATION NO. 59
0 WHEREAS, at a regular meeting held on the 27th day of
February, 1967 the City Council received a letter requesting
that the City Council consent to the annexation of certain con-
tiguous, unincorporated territory to the City which was described
generally as the territory bounded by Twenty Second Street on the
north, Irvine Avenue on the east, Tustin Avenue on the west, and
the Costa Mesa city boundary on the south-, and
WHEREAS, the City Council referred the matter of the
request for annexation to the Planning Commission for study and
has received a favorable report and recommendation from the Plan-
ning Commission-, and
WHEREAS, Section 35106 of the California Government Code
requires that the consent of the City Council must be obtained
before any proceedings are commenced for the annexation of ter-
ritory to a city pursuant to the provisions of the Inhabited Ter-
ritory Annexation Act of 1913; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to express its consent
to the commencement of proceedings to annex said territory to the
City of Newport Beach&
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach that it hereby consents to the commence-
ment of proceedings to annex the above described territory to the
City pursuant to the provisions of the Inhabited Territory Annex-
ation Act of 19132
