A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE AN APPLICATION AND AGREEMENT FOR A
CERTIFICATE OF CONSENT TO SELF - INSURE AGAINST
WORKERS' COMPENSATION CLAIMS
WHEREAS, the Department of Industrial Relations,
Self- Insurance Plans, has presented an application and
agreement for a Certificate of Consent to Self- Insure
against workers' compensation claims; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed said appli-
cation and agreement and in accordance with recently enacted
State legislation (A.B. 840) wishes to file said documents
with the State Department of Industrial Relations,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach hereby authorizes the City Manager
on behalf of the City of Newport Beach to execute an application
and agreement for a Certificate of Consent to Self - Insure against
workers' compensation claims pursuant to Statutes of 1978,
Chapter 1379.
ADOPTED this 12th day of ,F,ebruary , 1979.
