A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING INTERSECTIONS
AT WHICH VEHICLES ARE REQUIRED TO STOP AND
DIRECTING THE TRAFFIC ENGINEER TO ERECT
NECESSARY STOP SIGNS (NEWPORT HEIGHTS /CLIFF
HAVEN TRAFFIC PLAN)
WHEREAS, Section 12.36.010 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code provides that whenever an ordinance or resolution
designates and describes an intersection at which vehicles are
required to stop at one or more entrances thereto, the City
Traffic Engineer shall erect stop signs at those entrances of
such intersection where a stop is required, and every driver of
a vehicle shall stop at such intersection; and
WHEREAS, certain intersections should be designated
as intersections where vehicles area required to stop at one or
more entrances thereto as hereinafter provided,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
of the Ctiy of Newport Beach that the following described loca-
tions are hereby designated as intersections at which vehicles
are required to stop, and the City Traffic Engineer is hereby
directed to erect and maintain stop signs at said locations:
4 -Way
15th and
Orange
Broad and San Bernardino
*15th and
Kings Place
Santa Ana and Cliff (Beacon)
*Clay and
Westminster
Beacon and Aliso
Broad and Santa Ana
Cliff and Signal
*Cliff and St. Andrews
3 -Way
1 -Way
15th and
Redlands
*15th and
Aliso
*Tustin and Ocean View (Lower)
15th and
Signal
*Tustin and Ocean View (Upper)
Cliff and Irvine
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the six (6) locations
as recommended by the Cliff Haven Community Association (marked
with an asterisk [ *].) will be installed for a trial period of
ninety (90) days, after which there will be a staff review and
report back to City Council for decision on whether or not to
employ said signs on a permanent basis.
