RESOLUTION NO. 9682
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH APPROVING THE FORMATION OF
NEWPORT BEACH PUBLIC INFORMATION, INC.
WHEREAS, the City's Park, Beaches and Recreation
Department has the responsibility of communicating with the
public regarding leisure service programs available to the
public through said department; and
WHEREAS, the cost of mailing notice of said programs
has become excessively high; and
WHEREAS, a non - profit corporation may be established
to obtain a non - profit mailing permit from the United States Postal
Service; and
WHEREAS, said non - profit corporation may further
provide non - profit mail service for notification of other City
of Newport Beach activities, other than Parks, Beaches and
Recreation activities; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach
desires to minimize the cost of postage to the greatest extent
possible; and
WHEREAS, the Parks, Beaches and Recreation department
has presented the concept of the formation of Newport Beach Public
Information, Inc., a non - profit corporation to establish and
maintain an adequate line of communication between the City of
Newport Beach and its residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council
• of the City of Newport Beach as follows:
1. The City Council approves the formation of
Newport Beach Public Information, Inc.
2. The City Attorney, Finance Director, Parks, Beaches
and Recreation Director and other officers and employees

of the City of Newport Beach are hereby authorized and directed
to work for the formation of Newport Beach Public Information,
Inc.
ADOPTED this 26th day of November , 1979.
