RESOLUTION NO. 4 9 9 WHEREAS, certain city taxes of the City of Newport Beach have been levied and assessed upon property belonging to the State of California, Veterans' Welfare Board, and more particularly described as follows, to —wit: All that certain real property situate in the City of Newport Beach, County of Orange, State of California, and more particularly described as follows, to —wit: Lot 41 of "Tract No. 948" as shown on a Map recorded in Book 30, pages 6 and 7 of Miscellaneous Maps, Records of Orange County, California. And WHEREAS, it appearing to this City Council that said property heretofore described is publicly owned by the State of California through its agency, the Veterans' Welfare Board of Sacramento, California; and WHEREAS, it further likewise appearing that the City Attorney of the City of Newport Beach has given his written consent to such cancellation of said city taxes but not as to assessments for street work or other improvements of like character; and WHEREAS, it likewise appearing that satisfactory proof has been submitted to this City Council of the public ownership of said property heretofore described, and that said property is not subject to sale for delinquent taxes. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Treasurer of the City of Newport Beach be, and he is hereby ordered, directed and instructed to cancel the city taxes levied and assessed against the hereinbefore described property, but shall not cancel any special assessmentfor public improvements levied or assessed thereon.
